The Baja-Bezdan canal (Ferenc canal) is 44.8 km long - 32.2 km of which are in Hungary, 10.6 km in Serbia and 2 km of which the border is in the canal bed, creating a unique cross-border environment. Another special feature of the region is that it is an integral part of the Serbian-Croatian-Hungarian triple border, and thus a melting pot of three cultures. István Bielik's series of photographs gives a subjective insight into the everyday life of the Hungarian countryside through the lives of people living in Hungarian settlements along the canal (Baja, Nagybaracska, Dávod, Hercegszántó). The photo series was created in 2020 with the support of the National Cultural Fund.
